Banks, States and the People: Origins and Impacts of Banking Crises

May 23-24, 2023

The theme of the conference is Banks, States, and the People: Origins and Impact of Banking Crises.  The conference will explore the political origins of banking crises and their impact on populations throughout history.  To the extent that history repeats itself, the conference would provide an opportunity to reflect on what we can learn from historical research on banking crises that can be applied to the present day.
